The East Donegal qualifying area of the Donegal Soccer Academy Primary Soccer 7s competition (sponsored by Sellm8.com) took place at Curragh Athletic FC last Tuesday.15 teams took part from various schools, all competing for a place in the Grand Finals of the competition. In the boys section Scoil an Coimin and St Mary’s (Castlefin) advanced from Group 1, while Dramore NS and An Lanbh Iosa progressed from a competitive Group 2.Both Scoil an Coimin and Dramore NS saw off An Lanbh Iosa and St Mary’s respectively by a single goal margin to confirm their place in the boys final.Meanwhile in the girls section, St Mary’s (Stranorlar), Scoil an Coimin, Dooish NS and Murloch NS all booked their place in the semi finals.It took penalties to separate St Mary’s (Stranorlar) and Murloch NS, with St Mary’s taking the win. In the other semi final Dooish NS overcame Scoil an Coimin 1-0. The two finals were closely fought matches with penalties having to be used to decide both.
